Why Traditional Writing Methods Don’t Work for INFJ and INFP Writers

Over the past seven years I’ve coached and taught hundreds of INFJ and INFP writers and I can say one thing with certainty: most traditional writing methods just don’t work for us.

The sad thing is, most INFJ and INFP writers think that the problem is with them, not with the approach they’re using. So, they end up feeling horrible about themselves and their writing. I can’t tell you how many intuitive writers I’ve talked to who have told me, “I guess I’m just not cut out to be a writer,” when nothing could be further from the truth.

Once INFJ and INFP writers start using the Intuitive Writing method—and I’ve seen this happen with real people, with my own eyes, countless times—everything changes. The writer’s block magically dissolves. The story that could never be finished is finally finished. The character who stopped talking long ago suddenly shows back up and has a lot to say.

This is the power of the Intuitive Writing method. Once INFJ and INFP writers understand that there is nothing wrong with them as a writer, and that all the problems they’re having come from using the wrong kind of method for a creative person who is also intuitive, everything becomes so much more clear.

I’m launching a video course on Intuitive Writing, designed specifically for INFJ and INFP writers who are sick of feeling like a failure and like they’re doing something wrong, and tired of doubting themselves every single time they sit down to write. It’s coming very soon (like, this week), but in the meantime, I wanted to do a video series to answer some of the most commonly asked questions I get from INFJ and INFP writers on the Intuitive Writing method. If everything you’ve read so far is deeply resonating with you, then I do urge you to check out the first video in the series: Why Traditional Writing Methods Don’t Work for INFJ and INFP Writers:

My next video is going to include a really cool (and quick) little strategy you can use to reconnect with your characters almost instantly. If you’re not on my email list already, be sure you use the sign-up box on your right (or scroll down to the bottom of the page if you’re on a mobile device) and get on it. You really won’t want to miss it.
