The definition of inner child work is “the therapeutic process of reconnecting with your younger self to heal past emotional wounds, unmet needs, and unresolved trauma from childhood. By acknowledging these past experiences, individuals can provide themselves with the care, compassion, and protection they needed as a child, which in turn helps resolve adult behavioral patterns, emotional reactions, and relationship issues.”

In this workshop, we’re going to be exploring how to more deeply connect with our inner child, as well as the unique needs and vulnerabilities of the INF inner child. Many INFs grew up feeling misunderstood and shamed for our deeply emotional nature, as well as our innate sensitivity and intuitive way of seeing the world. This shame wound is at the core of many of our dysfunctional defense mechanisms as INF adults, such as hiding, fawning, masking, compulsively suppressing our own natural intensity, and downplaying our intellectual gifts.

In this workshop we will be learning how to use mindful awareness to dissolve these defense mechanisms, and how to connect with our INF inner child in a way that is joyful, safe, and unconditionally loving.
