Fiction Writing Live Class

Who Is This Class For?

This class is designed specifically for writers who:

  • Currently write fiction, or want to start writing fiction
  • Have tried mainstream writing methods and not much (or nothing) seems to work for them
  • Severely struggle with their inner critic
  • Have ideas for characters and stories but get confused when the writing actually begins
  • Feel massively overwhelmed when thinking about finishing a novel
  • Have “failed” in the past at finishing stories or a novel

I talk more in the video below about why I developed this course, what it covers, and what to expect from it:

How Does It Work?

LIVE CLASSES

Class is in session over Zoom from 4:00 – 5:30 pm PST on Monday evenings for 4 weeks (Jan 17, 24, 31, and Feb 7). Classes are interactive and include Lauren teaching, as well as group writing exercises, and Q&A.

*Each class is recorded and made available within 24 hours for streaming. Class members have lifetime access to all class recordings.

GROUP SILENT WRITING

Class members also have access to live silent writing sessions over Zoom on:

Thursdays (Jan 20 and 27, and Feb 3 and 10) at 1:00 pm PST

Saturdays (Jan 22 and 29, and Feb 5 and 12) at 10:00 am PST

Lauren opens the space with a short, guided meditation for writers, and then class members sit and write together virtually.

Everyone is welcome to come and go as they please. (Everyone’s microphone will be off, so no one will notice if you come late or leave early.) Lauren will call time at the end.

ASSIGNMENTS

Lauren will send out a short writing assignment via email on Tuesdays, relevant to that week’s topic. Class members are welcome to share their finished assignment with the class Facebook group if they wish, although there is also no need to share your answers with the group if it doesn’t feel comfortable.

FACEBOOK GROUP

A private Facebook group is available to all class members. The Facebook group will stay open and active even after class has officially ended, functioning as a supportive sounding board for all members who are interested in continuing relationships within the group.
