Beyond the Door Slam:

Regulating the INF Nervous System for Healthy Love

Experiencing the feeling of “love” can often be problematic for INFJs and INFPs. We simultaneously crave love and also fear it. Often, we get into push-pull dynamics in our relationships, swinging between a desire for closeness and a fear of losing ourselves in the other person.

These challenges are exacerbated by our high empathic sensitivity, our tendency to take responsibility for the emotional equilibrium of other people, and deep-seated fears around abandonment.

All of these elements combine into one confusing cocktail of emotions and unconscious reactive patterns for INFs, leaving us feeling either lonely and yearning, or dissatisfied and confused in intimate relationships.

In this workshop, we will be uncovering the reasons why we have this kind of experience with love and intimacy, and how we can resolve these patterns to move into a new way of relating to others—those we hold dear and want to be closer to, as well as those we might need a bit more distance from.
