My New Book Released Today! Between the Shadow and Lo Now Available on Amazon

I spent the years of my early 20s in Seattle as a raging alcoholic, feeling like I was split between two different personalities. Between the Shadow and Lo  is an autobiographical novel of many of the experiences I went through during those years. The book deals with addiction, depression, extreme dysfunction, and the dark side of life.

Starting today, Between the Shadow and Lo is available in ebook ($2.99) and in paperback.

Thank you, as always, for your support my dear writer friends.

I really couldn’t have written this book without you.

Brave material to deal with, well done! I have bought this as an e-book in the UK and it has already arrived on my iPad!

Thank you so much Hilary. It feels a bit unsettling to put this material out into the world, but it was something I had to do. I really appreciate your support, it means a lot.

Congratulations, Lauren. Acting teachers always say “Use that,” “that” being (I’m sure) what writing teachers say, “Write what you know.” Brava.

This is hugely exciting, Lauren, congratulations! I just ordered my copy, after having a little chat with myself that went something like this:
OVERTHINKER ME: “Oh wow, I totally want to purchase that paperback and read it the moment it arrives, but … it looks like it might be personal. I’d better not read it.”
SANER ME: “What!? She’s offering this book for sale, which means she’s inviting you and anyone else who wants to read it, to go ahead and read it. You should read it!”
OVERTHINKER ME: “Maybe I’ll just purchase it and keep it. Not read it.”
SANER ME: “What!? Books are for reading, and you want to read it. You’re going to read it!”
OVERTHINKER ME: “You’re right. I’ll read it for sure.”
So all of me is now looking forward to reading your latest book. Thanks for writing it and helping it find its way out into the world!

Hahaha! I love this. It sounds VERY similar to the dialogue that went on in my brain about publishing the book. 😉

I do hope that you read it Katarina, and I’ll be interested to hear what you think about it!

It takes someone of great courage to reveal the torture of extreme alcoholism and depression. Many people who suffer from these problems will find solace and comfort in reading Between the Shadow and Lo.

I’ll be reading this, Lauren! And I understand what you mean by an unsettling feeling to put a part of your life out into the world. I plan to write a memoir about my mid-life crisis, so I’ve been asking myself – am I ready?
    Wishing you all the best!
